Preferred vendor management

SBWC 6 years ago in Home Portal updated by Łukasz Kaleta (Senior Customer Success Manager) 6 years ago 5

Hi,

I am sorry, maybe I'm not getting this correctly, but it doesn't seem like I can create "preferred vendors" for my clients.

I'd like to be able to have the criteria "preferred vendor"/"back-up vendor" for each language and for each client, since they are often selected following tests.

Is that possible?

Thanks in advance

How to merge two vendor accounts?

Seyma Albarino 6 years ago in Home Portal updated by Marek Joniec (XTRF Product Manager) 6 years ago 1

We work with vendor "Company." A contact from "Company" created a vendor account in August. In October, someone else from "Company" (it seems unknowingly) created a second vendor account for "Company" with a slightly different name (and with a new contact person). Both accounts are currently Active.

Is there a way to merge these two vendor accounts? Or should I just make one account Inactive and add a contact person to the remaining Active account?

Development: client history within the system

SBWC 6 years ago in Home Portal updated 6 years ago 2

When creating a new quote for a client, would it be possible to have access to more information on the client's history?

Such as:

 - non-conformities

 - specific instructions stored as comments in the system (maybe create a section on a client level?)

The goal would be that people working during backups have access to the same amount of information as the usual PM, without leaving the system

vendor competency vs price profile

Robrecht Belien 6 years ago in Home Portal updated by Lennart Tondeleir 6 years ago 1

Hi,

We have some vendors with multiple price profiles. This works great.

The problem is that the competencies are for all price profiles. So when one of the price profiles doesn't have a price for for a job type that is in the list of competenies the system doesn't find a rate. But it does show up in vendor selection rules.

Is the only solution to copy the missing rates to all the price profiles? That makes changing a price a very difficult task. Especially when the vendor requests a price change via the vendor portal.

Multiple PM's on a project

Wim 7 years ago in Home Portal / Classic Projects 0

Hello,

I was wondering how everyone is handling this in classic projects.

I talked to our implementation specialist and he suggested to add a second PM as "Project Coordinator", but what if we have 3 or more PM's that need to follow up on the project?

What would be your best solution?

It would be nice to have the option to add as many PM's as you want to a project.

Solution to assign work to multiple users within an external SLV

Jose Palomares 7 years ago in Home Portal / Classic Projects with CAT integration updated by Chris Phillips 6 years ago 8

Posting this under "Classic" but also affects "Smart".

We have the following common scenario: we work with SLVs where we assign multiple jobs, let's say "Translation" and "Editing", to two different translators on the SLV side. They need to work at the same time and we want to know who worked on each segment/translation, so we need to have two distinct users for them in memoQ. However, from XTRF, each vendor can have only one set of credentials that can be passed onto memoQ.

One solution we can think of would be to let each of the contact persons on the Vendor profile have their own set of credentials. After all, each contact person has a full profile and access to portal, so the concept of multiple persons within the vendor already exists. It would only make sense that they could also be assigned to tasks and jobs individually.

Thanks,

Jose

Vendor selection rules, in Smart Projects, does not contain enough filters

I am trying to set up a vendor selection rule in a smart project and am running into an issue. This particular account is multilingual and we use only MLVs for each language. Some of these MLV's languages overlap with the other MLVs. So the use of a particular category does not necessarily help to distinguish the languages. For instance, let's say ABC Corp offers ES-ES and PT-BR, while XYZ also offers those languages, but I want to use ABC for ES-ES, and XYZ for PT-BR, and since this is a smart project, I want this to be automated.

In a classic project I run into the same problem, but I circumvent the problem by adding a filter for Target as Native Language under Vendor. This filter is not available in a smart project. Can anyone offer advice on how this can be done in a smart project.

Thanks,

Jaime

Set automatic receivables (with established values) for a process template?

Molly 7 years ago in Home Portal / Smart Projects updated by Marek Joniec (XTRF Product Manager) 5 years ago 3

Hi,

Under classic projects workflow definitions, we are able to set specific receivables. This really comes in handy to set up, for example, minimum fees or just to ensure that the receivables cover all the steps in a workflow.

I see there are automatic receivables option with Smart Projects but it appears to be totally tied to CAT analysis/jobs involving word counts. I'm looking to have automatic receivables using the HOUR calculation unit.

Here is an example of how we want to use this:

-Open project, select "Interpreting" smart project process & select client

-Opened project has pre-filled receivable "Interpreting @ 2 hours x $X/hr" (rate pulled from client price list)

This saves a lot of time when opening frequent, single-process type projects with established pricing. Is there some configuration I'm missing? Or, can we expect to have this sort of functionality in Smart Projects in the future?

Answer

Hi All

I'm afraid that at the moment the only option available in the system are the receivables based on the cat analysis.

There is an idea for this kind of development :

https://xtrf.userecho.com/communities/1/topics/671-auto-creation-of-default-payables-and-receivables-in-smart-projects

And we have it in our plans as something to be added in the system, not in the nearest future thou.

Best regards,

Marek
