New to XTRF-memoQ integration — A few questions

We just started running some tests (in a seprate XTRF instance) of the XTRF-memoQ integration feature. So far it's working great, but I have a few questions for those already familiar with it.


  • To what extent can we control what XTRF pulls from memoQ when creating a project and completing a step? XTRF is currently pulling some things we don't need (untranslated bilingual document at project creation) and not pulling things we need (translated bilingual document, QA report at every step)

  • Do you handle clients (other agencies mainly) who work with Trados Studio packages and expect return packages? How do approach these projects?


  • Is there a way to efficiently link usernames in external system in XTRF (as opposed to manually changing it for each vendor)? We can have a list of usernames in memoQ and a list of vendors in XTRF aligned, can we insert that back into XTRF in bulk?


  • (Off-topic) A similar question, but for vendor categories. If we create a dataset of categories —and vendors in them— in an appropriate format, is there a way to update XTRF's database in one go?

  • Can we modify the naming convetion for the project in memoQ?

Able to adjust incorrect source file?

I accidentally uploaded an incorrect source file for a workflow going to many vendors (Classic Projects). I had already started the workflow, but it was before sending availability requests and selecting vendors. I deleted the incorrect file as the source file and replaced it with the correct ones, but the vendors who won the jobs still received the incorrect first file (either as downloaded from the assignment email, OR on the portal). What is the recommended solution in a case like this?

"Multiple change" button for deadline not working for the main page

I don't know if it is by design but when I use the "Multiple Change" button to set a date for all tasks in a classic project, it doesn't set for the main deadline. Is this by design or a defect?

Array result from Multiple-Choice Custom Field in e-mail template

Can anybody smarter at coding save my bacon? I have a Job-scope custom field (multiple-choice), where PMs select one or more delivery formats the vendor has to deliver their job result in. I want this to show up in availability request e-mails and job starting e-mails. I got it working with the PO templates (results show in hard brackets, but it's fine), but I cannot figure out how to get it to display properly in the e-mail templates. I know the method "calls" the right field, but the output is displayed as "[Ljava.lang.String;@5d79a22d". As I understand, it has something to do with the fact that the result is an array.

Adding VAT to an invoice

Hi XTRF team

We are just wondering if you could help with a query with a provider's invoice. We would like to send a new invoice which will include a 20% VAT.  20% VAT has been added to the provider’s profile.

But the invoice is still showing without VAT… We have tried to change the rule, but it doesn’t change anything. The “multiply net total” rule didn’t work

We have also tried to remove the jobs from the invoice and to add them again, but it didn’t work… We would like this to be done without having to reopen projects.

XTRF 8.5 integration with memoQ 9.2

Can anyone confirm that there are no integration issues with XTRF 8.5 and the recently released memoQ 9.2? The changelog for memoQ 9.2 doesn't indicate that any API-related functions were updated, but I'd like to check before going ahead with the update. 

Answer

Integration with memoQ 9.2 is supported from XTRF v8.6.

We will be testing compatibility with memoQ 9.3 in the upcoming weeks too.

How to check who accept or Reject a quote

When a notification email is sent to the Client with the link to accept or decline the quote or using the client portal for the same purpose, the return email has a footer with the signature of quote requester. But if someone else who received the email has accept/reject the quote the same user signature appears. How to identify who did accept or reject the quote?

Delay time used in account statement

Did anyone figure it out how to stop the delay time on the account statement as if the invoice is paid the delay time still increasing.

Vendor selection strategy

Hello,

Can we change the default vendor selection strategy? When we open a new task, the default for each time is First one Wins so we want to change this to Manually by PM so that it won't start the job once a translator confirms availability.

Template for Availability Request

Hello,

We are trying to configure our settings for sending Availability Requests to translators.

While testing, we are able to send the request and the email that is sent looks like it has been sent by the PM who is managing the project, but when the translator confirms the job and the job is assigned (we used the cheapest at deadline strategy for testing), the email sent to translator that `they have been selected for the project` seems like it is sent by another PM. 

We would like the configure this to make it seem that the confirmation email is sent by the same PM who is actually managing project, not anyone else.

I couldn't find a place in settings where I can change this. Can you please point me in the right direction?
