How to access files in partially completed tasks

I have a project where the task has multiple files. The vendor is delivering the translated documents on a rolling basis. She uploaded the first file, but the other isn't due yet. Because she hasn't marked the job to that task as finished, I can't access the uploaded the file. 


Is there a way to get it? I tried to log in as the vendor in the VP, but it won't let us download. I tried to access the document folder for the project via FTP, but it just shows an encrypted PDF file of some type. 

Any ideas here?

Using the default email

When sales team is sending CRM emails from client portal the system uses the default assignment@ which is used for doing assignments to the vendors.  Can we choose to use the email of the sender instead? How?
I assume the information can be easily matched as all logged users have their emails.

Best way to map CAT ressources to clients?

We have translation memories in the SDL server (part of Groupshare) and we have also file based translation memories.

What is the most efficient way to allocate these workflow resources to clients in XTRF?

We want to avoid opening manually the dialog 'add workflow resource' for each client and each language combination as this would mean hours and hours (days) of work (imagine 10 languages x 1000 clients = 10,000 times opening a dialog).

  1. can we connect the SDL memory server and "communicate" the way memories are organised on the SDL-server to XTRF?
  2. can we batch-copy all memories (the file based ones) in a directory and on our XTRF server?

task or project workflow

I use XTRF Classic

We have regular jobs in one language combination, e.g. DE > EN

Which workflow type should be defined: task workflow or project workflow? In such a case they would do the same isn't it: Analyse + Translate + Invoice + Send? In other words, is a project workflow a requirement for using a task workflow?

Auto-accept Workflow Output Files

There used to be this option in Classic Workflow settings. Is there any way to toggle this now? I would like to not have to manually accept Output Files, because we have a dedicated Final Verification job set up as the last job on all workflows.

Hello Reinis. Currently for regular users, this option is available only through Multiple Change feature in Workflow Definitions menu.

From version 8.4 this option will additionally be available again in Files and Directories tab, as it used to be.

Error when vendor tries to sign-up

After the last update, job sorting selection won't keep applied

I usually sort the jobs by deadline and the jobs would stay sorted after I navigate between them and come back to the Jobs tab. After the last update (today), when I finish a job and come back to the Jobs, they are always randomized. So I have to sort them by deadline after every single job. Could you please fix this issue so that the applied sorting persists?

Associating quotes, projects, clients to e-mails manually | Messages tab

I have an on-going (and unfortunately long-standing) ticket with the HelpDesk about this, but I am wondering if everyone is having the same difficulties as we are.

We like having project related messages easily accessible in the Messages tab of a quote/project/task/etc. It's a great way for anyone who wants to know more about the project (especially what was communicated with the client) to quickly catch up with everything. This works fine with messages the system associates automatically. However, when we try to associate e-mails manually from the CRM > Mailboxes section, the process crashes.

Has anyone had this problem and figured out a way around it?

Create user in memoQ with predefined username

When creating a project with a new vendor in XTRF, it will create the user in memoQ and automatically copy their full name, email, phone number, address, and password to memoQ, which is great except that we use a different naming convention for usernames in memoQ than the vendor's full name. 


This now means that once a vendor has signed up to the vendor portal, we have to copy their details manually over to memoQ, assign a new username, and then copy that username to the vendor's account in XTRF all before the project manager creates a project with the new user. It's an annoying process, especially considering that XTRF is capable of populating user details in memoQ. 


It would be great if we could simply assign a username in XTRF and then let XTRF create the user in memoQ with that given username if it detects that no such user can be found in memoQ. Currently, XTRF throws an error that no such user is found and then fails to connect that project to memoQ, even if the user is created after the fact.
