Notification emails - Calculate Difference Between Days?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to try an idea where we would "remind" customers about upcoming payments before the invoice is overdue.

We would do this by using an #if in the reminder email to check if the current date is X days before the expected payment date and we would then use a different text, something like "Please remember that your invoice is due on XXX".

However, I am having trouble subtracting dates in XTRF (in fact, I am having trouble getting Dates and not strings to work with).

I would assume it would be done with something like:

#set($number_of_days_before_due=$utils.sub([GET_EXPECTED_PAYMENT_DATE, $now))

But I cannot find how to get the expected payment date. I would have assumed it was $customerInvoice.getExpectedPaymentDate() or

$customerInvoice.calculatePaymentDueDate() but that does not work. 


Does anyone have any ideas or pointers?

How do you handle client POs in XTRF?

We have a few clients that asks us to give them quotes for projects over a 6-12 month timeline. So we create a large quote, they use that to create an internal PO. Then they start sending up small projects. 

We want to track the client spend against the quote to make sure they don't go over.

Issues...

1) We can't "accept" the quote because that's not really a project. So we end up rejecting it - although it's actually been approved.

2) This isn't a pre-pay situation, rather it's authorization, so pre-payment doesn't make sense.

3) Other than opening up a spreadsheet, we don't know how to track this spend. Is there a way to create credits of some type credits in XTRF?

Any thoughts on how others handle this situation?

Any way to add links via API?

I think I know the answer here, but I'll go ahead and try... we're playing around with the new adding links feature rather than adding files to XTRF.

Is there any way to add links to a project via API or is manual updates the only way?

It would be huge for us if you could add links via api. :)

Filter on projects without deadlines - smart views

I'm looking to create a view in projects to show only those projects without a deadline. I can view all projects and sort by the deadline so those without a deadline appear at the top of the list, but that doesn't meet my needs fully. 

Has anybody found a way to filter on the dates to show "no date"?

Is it possible to log an e-mail sent outside XTRF?

Some platforms such as Salesforce have a function where you copy a code from Salesforce in the form of an e-mail, e.g. "jasd_092188sdsaa277390s@salesforce.com" and then if you add that to the Bcc of an outgoing e-mail, it automatically logs the e-mail you send into the appropriate client within your Salesforce portal.

Does XTRF have a similar function or do I have to send e-mails from within XTRF if I want them logged within a client's profile?

Answer

XTRF will only track the emails sent to the addresses known to it, if you track a mailbox through it (basically, you would let XTRF in your inbox to enable it scan for XTRF-related contents), or use its own CRM module.

Sorting by client name in task views

We would like the option to sort by client name added in task views. It is possible in project or job views, so why not add it also to task views? Searching for a client isn't the best, as you can search for clients that aren't indeed on the list.

It would greatly simplify invoicing tasks to clients and not forgetting certain ones.

Is ist possible to merge two users in XTRF?

In the past I had the same PM as 2 different users in XTRF, because of different roles.

After deactivating one of them, I want now to "merge" the 2 users to the only one actice user.

Any idea? Macro?

Rule first in served: cascade every hour with the same vendors every hour possible?

I'dd like to send a request for availability to 5 internal vendors for a specific job in a smart project (validation of the quality check). Can I send the request to the users and (if they don't answer in time) repeat again the request with the same 5 vendors? again and again...

Quote request form doesn't show Belarusian localization

I am trying to localize the Quote Request form. Currently we would like to add the Belarusian (be or bel) as the locale, but when added, the page shows blank.
