Example TM analysis file

Dennis Rosenbaum 3 years ago in Home Portal / Smart Projects updated 3 years ago 2

Hi all,

We are trying to import a TM analysis file of our own, but we don't know the exact format, so we are going to use one of the XTRF supported files (https://knowledgebase.xtrf.eu/display/XTRFHelp/CAT+Analysis+Import).

However, we don't have one of these files. Anyone here can help me by uploading one of the supported TM Analysis files (or sending me by e-mail)?

Kind regards,
Dennis Rosenbaum

Workflow Directories: select all files function (folder/file structure)

Monika 3 years ago updated by Mateusz Trzeciak (XTRF Deployment & Training Specialist) 3 years ago 1

Hello, I would like to know if there is a way of multiple files selection, in the Workflow Directories?

If we have multiple files in the Task, and we need to remove them, is there a way to select them all, instead of selecting every file separately?

Regards,

Monika

De-Archiving Smart Projects

mark 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 2

We just came across a few items where we needed to update archived projects (to add files, to add feedback...). Awhile ago there was some mention of adding a de-archive option for smart projects. (https://xtrf.userecho.com/communities/8/topics/1380-adding-new-files-to-an-archived-project)

Any thoughts here? This would be a useful addition. I don't even think we'd need to have the files de-archived, but allowing us to update some project data and add updated files ourselves would be very useful.

Thanks!

XTRF-Memsource connection - how to connect the two projects?

István Lengyel (BeLazy) 3 years ago in Vendor Portal updated by Thijs Senten 3 years ago 5

I'm working for BeLazy where we integrate, for example, XTRF systems with other XTRF systems. We have the use case of the Memsource integrated projects, where a vendor receives more than one task (translation, review) for each project. In Memsource every project is clearly identified by a URL. When we tried to create an XTRF project with Memsource integration, in the home portal it's fairly simple to open the project in Memsource, yet in the vendor portal we did not find the related information.

How do, how can vendors know which projects are in Memsource and which are not? And how do they know where to look in Memsource? Is it just the naming convention, or is there any other connection between the vendor portal and the Memsource instance? If it is just the naming convention, can we assume that everyone keeps the job ID there?

Has anyone set up single sign on with Google Services?

mark 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 3

We'd love to implement it but are currently 1) slogging through how feasible it is and 2) how stable it is.

Any experience out there?

Thanks!

Having word count displayed in the Quotes view

Is it possible to have a document word count displayed in the Quotes view when a document is received from a customer through the Customer Portal? We know that XTRF has already calculated this, as the word count is displayed to the customer before clicking 'Launch Project'. I know that the CAT tool calculates the total and weighted word count after the quote is converted into a project, but it would be handy to have the total word count visible also at the earlier stage when the request is first received.

Enable XTRF chat through the API

Dennis Rosenbaum 4 years ago in API updated by Bogusław Reich (XTRF Product Owner) 3 years ago 3

We have seen the new Chat functionality which pleases us a lot, and I think everyone here is pleased as well as it is a long awaited feature.

There is a problem though, the only way to enable the chat is through the Home Portal. It is also not possible to enable the chat later on, when the project is already created. This seems like a strange design choice as we live in an API first and modular software world.

We create loads of projects through the API and are therefore unable to enjoy the chat.

I have asked this question on the XTRF Help Center as well, this is their response: 'we are considering such an option in the future version of the chat but at the moment I'm not able to provide any details on when this would be implemented.'

So I would like to know if more of the XTRF users are in need of a way to enable the chat through the API. Please let me know and maybe the development of this feature can be speed up.

Answer

Hi Dennis. Following the feedback we received also from other Chat users, we will open this feature soon to all Projects and Quotes, regardless of their origin. This is expected in the next minor version already (i.e. by the end of this year). As a result, chat will be available also in projects/quotes created via API, Client Portal, QRF or custom connectors.

As a side note, since the feature has been designed in a way that it automatically invites vendors to chat rooms and workspaces, we thought that it may be a good idea to give the PMs more "manual" control over it. Hence the idea of "use XTRF chat" checkbox. Currently, however, we don't see it as necessary anymore. If a given LSP or client of ours decides to use our Chat, they usually want it enabled for all projects - and this is the direction we'll take.

Custom field not updatable from project

Ted 4 years ago in Home Portal / Smart Projects updated 3 years ago 2

We created a custom field called "Review Invoicing Notes."  This field lives on the client record, but it also shows up on project pages.  We just noticed that a project manager tried updating the field on a project.  However, that doesn't update the field on the customer record.  Would there be a way to either make this update on its own or make it so the field isn't editable on the project page?
