File Categories
We have some projects that don't work well with the available XTRF file categories:
Some examples are transcription projects, voiceover projects, and subtitling projects. It would be great to have the option to edit these, but we don't. Does anyone else deal with projects that don't fit these file types? Do you use the "Other" category frequently?
Thanks!

Smart project integration with Phrase
Hello, I would like to know if it's possible to integrate a smart project in XTRF with Phrase
New in XTRF and Groovy
Hello,
I am completely new to using XTRF and its API. I'm looking for a tutorial on how to create custom columns or personalize them for Smart Projects. Is this possible, or is custom coding only applicable to Classic Projects?
Thank you.
Set recommended rates for vendor portal registration
It would be good to have the ability in vendor portal configuration to set "recommended" rates for vendors (these could come from price lists) that register with us. They would see those rates when they enter their currency and job type as a recommendation.
This way we avoid them registering with unrealistic rates or our project managers having to manually change their rates after negotiating.
Thank you
Classic Projects: Add Client PO Number in "Create Classic Project" endpoint
Hello:
I can see that when adding a task to a project, there is a field for the Task PO Number:
"clientTaskPONumber"
That's for the endPoint: /projects/{projectId}/tasks
But isn't there a way to insert the Client's PO Number in the project scope?
[POST] projects/ doesn't have a filed for it.
Thanks for you help.
XML Invoices
Hello,
is anyone dealing with XML invoices?
Currently it is not posible to export XML invoices from XTRF and from 2024 electronic invoicing will be compulsory in many european countries.
Can someone share knowledge about this?
Thanks
Laura
Anyone is using OCR (or something similiar) to count words of a document?
Hi!
I am trying to research potential OCR, or to be exact, a software that would be able to count the words from as many formats as possible and give the results back.
The requirement would be that this software needs to be secure and have API. We are looking to speed up the quoting process by simply getting a rough total word count. We would like to use memoQ only for actual production.
The amount of information available for this topic through google is both too big and too narrow. Maybe you have had a similar need or something like this has caught your eye in the past
Round numbers - open PDF templates
Anyone has any idea to round numbers in the open PDF templates in XTRF?
Our quotes include totals with 3 decimals -> €120,025
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
PDF page counter
Has anyone discovered a way to detect the number of pages in a PDF submitted through the client portal and apply that number as the amount of pages in the quote receivables?
Target languages should not be automatically deleted when the language's tasks are removed
For classic projects.
It seems like a recent patch introduced a new behavior where empty language combinations are automatically deleted from the project when the last remaining language-dependent task is removed from that language combination.
Case:
If I create a class project with 10 target languages.
I then add task workflows for each target language.
Then at some point I had to delete the task workflows in order to change their workflows.
All 10 target language combinations are now automatically deleted when their tasks are deleted.
I would have to make sure to write down what my target languages were, and manually re-add them.
If the project was launched as a quote from the customer portal. I might have no records of what languages were requested from the quote.
XTRF support confirmed this is an intended behavior, but it didn't used to work like this.
Language combinations without tasks weren't automatically deleted in prior patches.
If XTRF intends to delete language combinations without tasks automatically, shouldn't it be made as an option that can be toggled on or off?
I also cannot find any documentation regarding this change. :(
