Can you select vendors through API?
When we start a new project via API, is it possible to select a vendor at that point? Or even an ordered list of vendors as a pre-defined vendor selection rule?
A little background:
We connect Google Sheets to XTRF via API and we use it to automatically start complex projects for a particular client. We’re now thinking we need to take it the next step and automatically assign vendors and get the vendor assignments sent immediately. Our challenge is that the current vendor selection rules don’t work for us. We can select from a pool of vendors (via categories, or preferred vendors) but it doesn’t get us the level of detail based on projects assigned, new vs. experienced vendors, quality rating, nor does it give us the ability to ensure an equitable rotation of vendors to this client.
So, we are hoping we can somehow select the vendor outside of XTRF.
Is anyone doing something like this? Or am I thinking of this entirely wrong?
Accessing word counts in CAT payable through macro
I have asked XTRF support already, but I'm also trying my luck here.
Does anyone know how to access the word counts in CAT payables for the specific CAT tools through a macro? I know how to do this for the 'Other' CAT grid and had a very useful macro running that changed specific word counts, but with the switch to the specific Memsource grid this doesn't work anymore and I can't figure out how to access and change the word counts in this new format.
I have a bunch of unhappy project managers that suddenly need to do a lot more manual work, so for me it's pretty much every minute counts...
Anyone have experience with this, perhaps with the other specific grids for MemoQ or Trados?
Thanks!
Notification about passed deadline
Hello,
Is there a way to set up a notification to be sent for the jobs that were started, but not delivered yet = when the deadline date/time is overdue already? Notification should be sent to the Vendor or Project Manager, depending on the settings. It would also be great if some "margin" could be set up - for example 30 minutes after the deadline passed.
Thank you,
Jan
Tipalti to handle vendor payments - API?
Wondering if anyone has experience working with this third party to handle vendor payments, and if you could share any experience using it and/or integrating with XTRF with the API. It seems possible, but I'm not sure.
outlook calendar and google calendar integration
Before we got XTRF, I was mainly using Trello to keep track of my projects.
The nice thing about this is that it will create events in your Google calendar or Outlook calendar for the due date of a card.
It would be nice to have something similar in XTRF where deadlines of ongoing projects are shown in Google or Outlook calendar.
How can I change who is copied on invoices?
We currently have invoicing set up so that I'm CC'd and a special email address is BCC'd. How can I edit this setting?
Continuous Localization? - With new models of projects, how does XTRF work?
We have a few clients that seem to be moving to a model of continuous localization where we are getting frequent content with lots of small updates. We haven't really thought much about that until we saw this article on slator - https://slator.com/whys-and-hows-of-continuous-localization/?mc_cid=a38cf914b9&mc_eid=0282270890 - where we started to think that if clients are moving toward more frequent small updates, XTRF isn't well optimized. Or at least we're not using XTRF is a way that is optimized for this type of work.
I just want to know if @XTRF or any users out there have given a thought to client work that is more focused on high frequency, high touch, low volume work and how to best use XTRF in these cases?
Thanks so much!
Log4Shell vulnerability - is there a security update for this?
https://www.zdnet.com/article/log4j-zero-day-flaw-what-you-need-to-know-and-how-to-protect-yourself/
Is there a patch available or in process for this security risk? Any recommendations for what we should be doing to protect ourselves? Thanks!
Partial invoice for client - best practice when full invoice will be sent later?
We have a situation where a client "paused" some projects, and we need to invoice for the part of the work completed already. These projects should theoretically resume, in which case the partial amount invoiced/paid would count as credits toward the full invoice upon project completion. However, it is possible one or more projects may be cancelled altogether.
Wondering if anyone has similar experience, and how to go about sending a current invoice for less than the full amount, then later sending the full invoice and showing the credit. Is it best to send it from QuickBooks now (we have the integration)? We invoice on the overall project level, not the language-task level.
Thanks for any suggestions!
XTRF Speech-To-Text 🚀 Early Access
Hello everyone,
I hope you all have a great day. 😄
If you're doing video/audio transcription, we've got something just for you. Next year, we'll be releasing an AI-based Speech-To-Text service integrated tightly with XTRF. All you need to do is create a project, add a file, assign vendors and see the magic happen. Once the file is processed, your vendors get a link to the post-editor, allowing them to work on it in a familiar, segment-based environment.
What you can see on the screenshot are alternating versions of the transcript for a particular segment. The vendor can start with the closest match, polish the rough edges, and move to the next one. Once they're done, the transcript is automatically uploaded as a job output to XTRF for further processing.
This solution currently supports Smart Projects only.
