Is it possible to receive (send) a notification when the deadline of a particular step in the workflow is overdue and it has not been closed?

I believe receiving a notification for when these 2 options happen at the same time would definitely avoid any type of delays on the Project Management's end, as sometimes it could be difficult to simultaneously keep track of all opened steps in several projects. Notification could be send both to Project Manager and Vendor assigned.

Hi Eduardo,

You can specify notification settings in Configuration -> Projects -> Settings. I have these checkboxes in my mind

These notifications are in fact sent only to the Vendor by default, but all defaults can be obvioulsy changed. To add a Project Manager as a recipient, do the following.

1. Go to Configuration -> Notifications -> Notifications -> Templates.

2. Then, choose the wanted one - When job's deadline is nearing.

3. In the Recipient field, add (by clicking on a plus) the Project Manager, just as shown.

Such prepared notification will be send to all people set in the Recipient field, so in this case - to both, the Vendor and the Project Manager.

GOOD, I'M SATISFIED

Excellent, thanks!

Hello Olaf,

We actually don't have any "Projects Menu" on Configuration -> Projects -> Settings. Where can we turn it on?

Ok, try the Configuration -> Advanced Configuration -> Project/Quote bookmark then.

Could you please describe the same solution in Smart Projects? Or rather, will this useful feature which is available in Classic also be added to Smart?

We are aware lack of it, and there is a ticket in the development queue, but with no ETA yet. There is also a topic on Ideas, where you took your vote already :)

A workaround I can come up with is to fill up the Instructions with an info that the deadline is nearing. Vendors get then a notification that the new instructions are up, and can see them in their VP's. I could even think about developping a macro, which does this automatically, but I have not tested it yet.

Sorry for the jab, but it is Friday afternoon and thus time for some banter.

Thanks for thinking outside of the box and presenting some temporary workarounds.

This should work.

Thanks!

Has there been any development or progress on adding notifications to Smart projects?

Thanks Lukas. That request is reasonable and I'd support it. However, it's different than this. I'd want to have deadline notifications in Smart Projects.

Yes and yes.

Thanks.

We are using this setting for classic projects, and it works fine, but we would appreciate it if reminders would be sent only for jobs with Started status.

As it is now, notifications are sent also for jobs with Accepted status, which means that a vendor, or client validator, who has accepted the job, but not yet received it for some reason, will get a reminder, which doesn't make any sense.
