vendor details available from project

Krijn 5 years ago in Home Portal / Smart Projects updated by Christiane Lueke 1 year ago 5

Hi!

when our PM are working on a project they sometimes have to contact translators. At the moment it is very difficult for them to access vendor details such as phone number. They actually have to open another XTRF in another window whicht is very cumbersome and not good for performance. Do you have any idea how this can be solved? If for example we could just click on the venodor name from the project that you then see vendor details such as phone number?

@Krijn, I see you posted this as a development idea on another forum (thanks!), so let the discusstion continues there and allow me to close the thread here.

Dear Krijn,

For now the only ways that I can think of that may be helpful is to:

a) use job menu -> Communication -> Add instruction for this job only
b) when chosing Vendors for project, add their phone numbers/e-mails/social media to Internal Notes project field.
c) add a Custom Field on scope: Project, where vendor contact data can be stored.

This could also probably be solved by combining b) or c) option with a macro that will automatically populate chosen vendor contact information to one of these fields, but for that please contact your XTRF account manager.

Hi Mateausz,

thanks for your reply. We are looking for a more sustainable solution. We do not want to do everything with macros. Could this be made a product development suggestions that you make it that we can click on the vendor in the project and then a tab opens with vendor information?

We have built our own Chrome Plugin that provides these kind of functionalities. As far as my experience goes, you can wait long before XTRF implements such features.

Have there been any developments on this?

It would be an excellent function to have.
