Integrations with other systems

This is an old version of the article. Please check the updated information in the Integrations section of our new Knowledge Base

XTRF enables you to set up the communication with some of the third-party systems such as common Computer Aided Translation (CAT) tools used in the translation process.

There are different levels of integration with most CAT tools available on the market. The deepest integration is developed for memoQ, Memsource, SDL GroupShare, SDL Trados Studio, and XTM software, but recognizing and reading analysis files from various systems is also supported.

CAT tool analysis files

XTRF Platform allows you to import CAT analysis files from over 20 CAT tools. The files are known as logs, metrics, or project master data. You can use them to automate creating CAT payables and CAT receivables, instead of entering the financial information manually.

Here is a table of all the supported CAT tools together with the file formats they come in:

Integration with CAT tools

If you use one of the CAT environments to translate files received from your Clients, you can easily integrate it with XTRF. This enables you to use the tool your translators know very well and simultaneously gain control of the project workflow. This approach not only automates the work of the Project Managers who only need to set up Projects in one of the two systems, but also enables them to control the status of the Projects and workload of the Vendors.

At the point of finalizing a CAT tool project, the files are transferred back to XTRF, can be viewed by the Project Manager, sent for additional processing if necessary, and delivered to the Client. You get to decide on the level of automation and PM's involvement.

Smart Projects currently have that deep integration with memoQ.

Classic Projects offer more connectors, not only to memoQ, but also to SDL Trados Studio, GroupShare, Memsource, and XTM.

The following table presents CAT tool versions supported by our built-in integrations in the latest XTRF release:

CAT toolSupported versionsNotes
memoQ Server9.12requires active memoQ API
Memsource Cloudnewest (Ultimate version only)requires active Memsource API

QuickBooks

There is an optional built-in connector to QuickBooks Online and Desktop editions. It synchronizes invoice and payment information for both Clients and Vendors.

Integration with other accounting systems

Our customization team can prepare an exporting macro to your accounting systems, be it: Visma, Sage 50, DATEV Mittelstand pro, 1C. Such a macro produces an on-demand file listing all invoices that can be imported to the accounting software. Contact us and provide some sample data for best results.

WeLocalize

The integration allows XTRF to perform synchronization with WeLocalize's system called Falcon. Although Falcon is now being replaced by Junction, we will maintain it as long as it is in use.
