What is Default TM Rates Type

I could not find an answer to this in What's on this page or the Forum. This field is found in the Price Profile of vendors, under Competencies & Rates. The options are Percentage or Fixed.

Thanks, Maciej. I guess my question is when do you use Percentage and when Fixed? What do the two options signify and how do they differ?

From my humble experience, vast majority of our clients use percentage of the basic rate and really few use fixed rates.

Percentages are easier to maintain. They can be seen in the Vendor Portal too.

Fixed rates are hidden in the basic rates, so they are not visible when you browse rates in a Price Profile and they cannot be imported or batch-changed.

But I believe the choice is primarily made due to existing agreements with the end-clients. I also heard from one of our German clients that the fixed-rate preference is in fact 'a German thing'. Could not confirm that, though.

Hello Sancho,

If I remember correctly, it is just a way to show the calculation type, i.e. if it will show as a percentage of the full rate (e.g. repetitions 30%) or as the actual rate (e.g., 0.03 if the full rate is 0.10).
