Released

8.5

Bogusław Reich (XTRF Product Owner) 4 years ago in Minor Release, e.g. 8.2.0 updated 4 years ago 4

XTRF 8.5 brings the following new features:

  • Vendors Workload - a brand new mode available in browse views for Vendors and Vendor Price Profiles. It displays availability and remaining daily capacity for all Vendors in the view, from 1 to 7-day time span. PMs can also see details of Vendors’ scheduled Jobs, competencies and basic information from their profiles.
To switch between the Vendors Workload mode and standard browse view use the following toggle in Vendors and (Vendor) Price Profiles views:

  • Multinode - an improvement introducing major groundwork to support horizontally scalable multi-node setup. Thanks to the introduction of load balancing, XTRF Platform running on multiple nodes can handle a large (100+) number of concurrent users without significant impact on the overall system’s performance. The Multinode feature can also provide a failover mechanism, so the system can continue to operate even if one of the nodes is down. Alongside this development, many performance improvements applicable also to standard, single-node installations have been introduced.
NOTE: Running XTRF in the multi-node version requires proper set-up of hardware and system infrastructure. For more details on how to prepare for Multinode deployment, please contact your Customer Success Manager at XTRF.
  • Adding File Links via API - an extension to the File Links feature added in XTRF 8.3 to Smart Projects. Adding the links is now also possible via API with a POST method. For more details, see XTRF’s Home Portal API documentation.
  • Clear Survey button - a new button for clearing Client Satisfaction Survey ratings in Classic and Smart Projects. Available only for users with enabled 'Delete' rights for Feedback.

Improvements to existing functionalities cover the following:

  • Lengthy Job identifiers in Smart Projects' Quality Assurance, Payables and Vendor Invoicing sections are now wrapped, which makes them distinguishable.
  • Newly created "Vendors linked with Users are also by default marked as "in-house" and "individual".
  • Improved project indexing performance and global search mechanism.
  • Various security, stability and usability fixes.

The following previously planned features will be delivered at a later date:

  • Status syncing on document return to the previous step in memoQ integration (in Smart Projects) - postponed to version 8.6

Known issues:

  • During stability tests we experienced random issues with CAT project creation in integration with memoQ 9.1. Therefore, we cannot yet confirm full compatibility with memoQ 9.x versions and recommend not to upgrade your memoQ. We are working together with our partners at memoQ to resolve these issues as soon as possible.

Deprecated functionality:

  • Trados Studio 2015 integration - we cease support for Trados Studio 2015 integration and XTRF Trados Agent 7.0. Only Trados Studio 2017 and 2019 integrations and corresponding XTRF Trados Agent versions will be supported.
  • SDL GroupShare 2015 integration - support ceased as a consequence of Trados Studio 2015 integration deprecation.
  • Show Summary Page - Project Summary Page for Classic Projects (displayed after clicking Show Summary Page button in a Project) will be removed in XTRF 9, as it has been mostly replaced by other reporting tools and sees very rare usage nowadays.
  • External Process - we cease support for Automatic Actions of External Process type. They are already not allowed for editing on our SaaS infrastructure. They will still remain available for on-premise installation, but will no longer be maintained by XTRF.
  • WeLocalize (Falcon) integration - with regards to the fact that WeLocalize is replacing their Falcon API used in our built-in integration with a new Junction API, please be informed that we are not planning to develop further our current integration. It was also decided that we will not migrate our integration in its current shape from Falcon to Junction. As a consequence, the integration will remain operational until WeLocalize fully deprecates Falcon. Integration with Junction will be possible only in the form of custom applications or connectors developed by our Customization Team. If you are interested in such a solution, kindly contact your Customer Success Manager at XTRF to discuss the details.
