Google sheets add-on

Hello,

What happened with the sheets add-on? That was an amazing tool.

Hello, I agree, this was really useful. I hope that it will be back soon!

That is really bad news. I hope it's not gone for good.

That's not good - we have been using it on a daily basis.

@XTRF, any update on this?

Hello to All!

Yes, we are aware of the fact and are working together with G-Team to resolve the technical issue, it's not on our site.

Please stay tuned, we will let you know when problem is fixed.

Yees please!! Missing it a lot!

We need this feature back ASAP! It’s the one I use the most to do all sorts of reports and analysis. It would be a nightmare to do without it.

Unfortunately, Google decided to revoke our authorization for the Addon because they claim our website is not available. This is not true, and we were not given any warning prior to application removal.

We have resent the app for verification again, but Google says:

The Trust and Safety team has received your form. They will reach out to you via your contact email if needed. The review process can take up to 4-6 weeks. Expect the first email from our Trust and Safety team within 3-5 days.

So we are currently waiting. We do not know how long it will actually take for the app to be available again.

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we strongly believe this was an issue on the Google side, not ours.

Sadly, we are vendor locked-in here, has to depend on their whims and dance to their tune.

The Addon has been verified by Google through the weekend, should be already available.

I don't see it yet - I assume I should find it when searching for XTRF, correct?

Thanks! I found it, and even better, it was automatically reinstalled with all previous settings.

Just noticed this as well. Does anyone have any workarounds?

Sometimes I prepare a view and then simply export it and open it in an external tool like Excel.

I don't have a workaround, but a different system. On a daily basis I dump my XTRF data into Big Query, and then I connect that data to google sheets and Data Studio. Not a short-term solution, but it is very stable and works great.

Hello Mark, do you do that "Big Query" just through a view?

Thanks.

We actually connect to Big Query via API using views. So I essentially set up a series of smart views for backup and reporting purposes that I don't mess with often. One for Projects, Jobs, Quotes, Invoices, Clients, etc... It works great and has been a great relief because it's a very robust data housing tool and very fast.

For basic reporting, the google sheets add-on works well - but I haven't used it in a few years. I do remember the BQ data connector worked better for my purposes, and actually at this point I do take advantage of the easy connection between BQ and Data Studio more than the google sheets connection. That works well for us.
