OnCloud IPv6 rollout

We are pleased to announce an upcoming rollout of IPv6 connectivity for our OnCloud services.

IPv6 is the next-generation communication protocol over the Internet, slowly being adopted as an improvement over the exhausted IPv4.

There should be no changes for end users as we continue to support IPv4 connectivity over the foreseeable future. However, some misconfigured networks or older devices may experience issues when there is dual-stack addressing.

That’s why we added IPv6 addresses to all OnCloud test instances several weeks ago. As no issues were reported, we are preparing to add them to the production instances.

We plan to gradually enable it in the second half of August in the absence of any negative feedback.

Please check if your test instances are working correctly and ensure your employee devices will not fail when presented with an additional IPv6 address in the DNS response. You may use https://ipv6test.google.com/ for that
